It's This Simple
- Treat Each Other With Respect
- Build Trust
- Always Resolve Issues Promptly
- Obey The Laws
Digital peer-to-peer car renting is a new concept for the Caribbean; we ask that you always follow these best practices.
Treat Others With Respect
In the context of car-sharing, this process begins with an owner offering a car that is ready for the road and ends with a traveler returning that car in the condition initially provided. If something happens along the way, we trust that the responsible party will stand up and resolve the issue.
How you treat each other is also essential. It’s okay to disagree; keep it civil and productive, especially when picking up and dropping off the vehicle. If either the traveler or owner has a concern, discuss it with mutual respect. Keeping the car clean, odor-free, full of gas, and otherwise roadworthy at pickup and return prevents unpleasant conversations.
Build Trust
Make sure your profile clarifies who you are; it should include a clear profile picture and your name. Remember that trips are for you alone, and if someone else wants to drive your car on Rent Yuh Ride, they need to have a Rent Yuh Ride-approved account. Describe and photograph your car so travelers know what you’re offering. Guests should never tamper with, abuse, or misuse a car booked through the Rent Yuh Ride marketplace.
Always Resolve Issues Promptly
While most trips end as soon as hosts get their car and key back, you may still need to square up on tolls, gas, or even damage after the trip is over. Promptly let the other party know that something’s amiss and try to resolve the matter quickly.
Obey The Law
Owners are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle complies with all applicable regulatory laws, and we expect travelers to comply with all operating laws.
